Modules are on everyone's lips. Meanwhile, it appears as any serious model railroad magazine wants to organize a Modulbuilding competition.
Even in schools Modulebuilding competition are organized. But what is behind, or rather in these modules?
Advantages of the modular building method
Building a Model Rail modular, has many advantages over a stationary plant. Firstly, it remains a modular construction board, so that each module is easily transportable. Secondly, with modules one can work their way step by step. By modules you can plan, build and run on independent pieces from other pieces. The next modul occurs when it is needed, when money is sufficient or when more space is available. Thirdly, it offers modules to people who are not just equipped with a suitable basement or room, the possibility of building a proper facility and then, without having to ask theri family to travel on vacation. Finally, the builder can bring his modules, and meet with other like-minded and do model-driven operation. There are many associations that are building their plants modular. One can safely say that FREMO was at the front of the saddle by thoughts of modular model railway building.
