USA as Model within FREMO – in HO
The HO-USA group within FREMO has grown considerably in later years. The different types of landscape and the various types of operation of our prototypes on the North American continent are reflected in a great variation in interests and focal points within the group. A number of sub-groups have been formed under the umbrella of the HO-USA to serve all these interests.
All US Groups use a common Basicnorm, which has been further developed by each Division. Through this Basic Norm it is possible to operate together at various arrangements without problems.
The group of founders of the HO-USA with focus on the western USA is today called the Unna-Division; the FREMO-US-Group North (mainly with members from northern Germany and Denmark) reflects its prototype interests through its name as the East-Coast-Division, while the group in the southwest of Germany – including the neighbouring countries – defines itself as the Southwest-Division. Narrow Gauge fans have found eachother in the Narrow-Gauge-Division.
The Divisons have another common base in the Waybill System – Frachtsystem (Systeme de Fret). This was developed by Thomas Biehle for the Anniversary Meeting in Alsfeld in 2006.
The FREMO BELT LINES was brought to life at the Yearly Meeting 2006 at Braunlage. This shared, fictive railroad company serve as a link between the various groups.
